It's a magical getaway in our own backyard. My wife and I were so excited when we first discovered the Fairmont Chateau Montebello just a short 45 minute drive from our home. Its charming staff and majestic, yet cozy, interior have made it our destination of choice to celebrate special occasions together or simply to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life.
On this particular visit, we began our day with a delicious brunch in the main dining room, overlooking the river. From there we headed out into the crisp, winter air to explore the beauty of the surrounding forests, with snowshoes underfoot. The Chateau's incredible, six-sided fireplace was a welcome sight for our cold toes and rosy cheeks when we returned. Coupled with a perfect cup of hot cocoa, the minutes melted into hours as we sat and enjoyed an evening of conversation with friends, reflecting on memories shared together and the new ones just created.
